CHOCOLATE CHUNK BLONDIES

6 tbsp. butter, softened
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 cup coarsely chopped nuts (optional)
1 3/4 cups (one 10 oz. pkg.) semisweet chocolate chunks

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease (9x9x2-inch) square pan.

In a large mixer bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg, milk and vanilla. Beat well; set aside.

Combine flour, baking soda and salt and add to creamed mixture. Stir in nuts, if desired, and chocolate chunks and spread in prepared pan.

Bake 20-25 minutes, or until lightly browned. Cool completely and cut into bars.

Makes about 1 1/2 dozen bars
