3/4 cup orange juice
3/4 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup margarine or butter, melted
4 teaspoons grated orange peel
1 egg
3 cups all purpose or unbleached flour
3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 cup salted sunflower seeds

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease one 9x5 or two 8x4-inch loaf pans.

In large bowl, blend sugar, orange juice, buttermilk, margarine or butter, orange peel and egg; mix well. Set aside.

Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. Add flour and baking powder to sugar mixture. By hand, stir 25 to 35 strokes until dry ingredients are moistened. Stir in sunflower seeds. Pour into prepared pan.

Bake at 350 degrees F. Bake in a 9x5-inch loaf 55 to 65 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean or bake in a 8x4-inch loaf 35 to 45 minutes. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pan. Cool completely.
